Polyorganosilicon with IPN Structure

Jul 5, 2023

Polyorganosilicon/poly (styrene butyl acrylate) with IPN structure is used as the Adhesive in the paper coating agent, which greatly improves the printing performance, gloss, water resistance and toluene resistance of the coated paper.

A polyorganosiloxane/polyacrylate coating with IPN structure was prepared using methyl triethoxysilane and ethyl orthosilicate to prepare an interpenetrating polymer network coating. This coating has the characteristics of transparency, high hardness, strong adhesion, aging resistance, and excellent breathability, making it an excellent stone carving weathering resistant material, It can avoid the "protective" damage caused by the single use of organic silicon or acrylate coatings. At 80 ° C, it is slightly acidic (pH=4) In the lotion system of, the ring opening polymerization of the silicone monomer D4 and the acrylate radical polymerization are carried out step by step to form a synchronous interpenetrating network polymer. The composite film has good hydrophobicity, solvent resistance and high and low temperature resistance.

The polymer lotion can be used for leather finishing, improving the touch of the coating and enhancing the brightness of the coating. Half interpenetrating network type (SIPN) silicone/acrylate lotion was studied. It was considered that the pre emulsification method was the best method to synthesize silicone acrylic resin IPN. The effect of silicone content on polymerization reaction and film properties was studied. The interpenetrating polymer networks of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and polymethylacrylic acid (PMAA) were obtained using monomer impregnation and air interpenetrating network interface methods, and their structures and network structures were characterized.

Microemulsion polymerization
Microemulsion polymerization is a kind of lotion polymerization to prepare small particle size latex. The usual lotion polymerization is the polymerization of oil phase monomer in the presence of emulsifier and aqueous phase medium. Water soluble monomer such as acrylamide can conduct so-called "inverse lotion polymerization" in oil phase medium, but the latex obtained has poor stability and is easy to coagulate. If the water-soluble monomer conducts lotion polymerization in the oil phase medium in the presence of a large number of emulsifiers, at this time, the monomer is fully soluble in the micelles, and there is no monomer particle, resulting in a latex with very fine particle size, which is reverse micro lotion polymerization or micro lotion polymerization.

Compared with traditional lotion polymerization, micro lotion is an isotropic, thermodynamically stable colloidal dispersion system composed of oil, water, emulsifier and co emulsifier. The system is spontaneously formed, and the product has small particle size, good stability, low viscosity, easy processing, transparent or translucent. It was found that the size of the silicone modified acrylate microemulsion was small, the stability of the lotion was good, and the mechanical properties, thermal properties and water resistance of the latex film were improved.
